Laiyah Amaria Polk is a vibrant spirit, full of life with a lot to say about everything. I remember just teaching her and her brother how to tie their shoes. She stopped to say to us, “practice makes perfect.” Last week she came home excited to tell us how she is practicing and successfully able to tie her shoe during school on her own. Laiyah was our morning bird, always the first to rise and would greet everyone with a “Grand Rising.” She loved movie with popcorn nights as a family. She was excited to learn this year, she entered into Kindergarten at Longwood Christian Academy. There she learned academics but she took most interest in stories about the Bible, which she came home each day to recap what was taught. She was good in many ways and it was evident that she wanted to please her parents and make us proud at such a young age. She is a member of Starz Dance Company, “SDC”, of Casselberry, FL. She was excited about this years dance competition and would say to mom and dad, “I have this dance down and can do it without watching my teammates, just eyes forward serving the judges.” Then she would ask Alexa to play the song so that she can demonstrate how well she knew the routine. Laiyah is a loving sister, though she was the 2nd born of 3 she had the big sister persona and took care of her brothers in many ways. She was our attentive and vocal child. She could and would talk from the time she rose in the morning until her eyes shut in the evening; even then I would find her talking in her sleep every now and again. She was very expressive and gave attention to all the details. Often giving compliments when she notice something different or sometimes asking questions about things that you would not think she would. She loves and is loved very much! You are forever in our hearts sweet Laiyah.
