Brews Around the Zoo returns for another year at the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens on April 9 from 5 to 9 p.m.

The Central Florida Zoo has been hosting this annual event since 2008.

Man dies after being ejected into Lake Jesup during crash on 417 bridge

A 60-year-old Orlando man died after he was ejected through the backseat window of a 2010 Toyota Scion into Lake Jesup early Sunday morning during a crash on State Road 417.

Rose Flores, S Cook Productions LLC The University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning and Scholastic held a community celebration March 29 at the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens to mark the first 100,000 students enrolled in the New Worlds Reading Initiative, a free, new literacy program to help Florida students read at grade level. The “Reading Makes You, You — at the Zoo!” event featured fun activities for participants, and they also received a free book and meal as part of the celebration.
