Language was added/edited/removed due to certain prohibitions including academic misconduct, alcohol, arson & fire, battery, dress, drugs, firearms & lethal weapons, guests, hazing and soliciting. Information was added on medical emergencies.
The following language was added to the Policy after the Board’s first reading on June 19th due to new statutory requirements per HB 1521 which took effect on July 1, 2023:
Unauthorized Use of a Restroom or Changing Facility
It is prohibited for any student to willfully enter a restroom or changing facility designated for the opposite sex and refuse to depart when asked by any administrative personnel, faculty member, security personnel or law enforcement personnel, except as otherwise provided in section 553.865, Florida Statutes.
