Mrs. Willie Sparks Straws

Mrs. Willie Sparks Straws was born on August 19, 1940 in Lubbock, Texas to Mr  Irvin Sparks and Mrs Lillian Moore Sparks.  She graduated with a Bachelors Degree from Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana and with a Masters degree from Boston University.  Mrs. Straws was an educator at Pikes Peak Community College, Colorado Springs, CO and was a member of Diamond Delta Sorority.

Mrs. Straws passed in Orlando, FL on Friday, March 22, 2024.  Left to cherish her memory is her loving Husband, Joe Straws (Sanford, FL); Sisters, Sharon Sparks Porch (Robert) and Sue Sparks both of Lubbock Texas; Niece, Melissa Maluski (Nowell) of Austin, TX; and a host of other family and friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024, 11am, at First United Methodist Church, 419 South Park Avenue, Sanford, FL  32771 with visitation at 10am.  Burial to follow at Oakland Cemetery, 16798 W. Colonial Drive, Oakland, FL  34760.

Final arrangements are entrusted to Gail and Wynn’s Mortuary, 1300 Bruton Boulevard, Orlando, FL  32805.
