“I’m Not a Robot,” winner of the 2025 Academy Award for best live action short, will highlight this year’s Summer Rewind hosted Aug. 29 by Love Your Shorts Film Festival.
The tale is about a woman who fails a series of CAPTCHA tests on her computer at work and becomes obsessed with a disturbing question: Could she be a robot?
The Dutch film is one of 10 that will be screened at the Summer Rewind event at The Ritz Theater in Sanford. The program will feature some of the most talked-about films from the Love Your Shorts 15th annual festival in February, where “I’m Not a Robot” also won the festival’s Best Sci-Fi and Best of the Fest awards before it won an Oscar.
The shorts (below) are a sampling of all the festival’s categories: Comedy, Drama, Animation, Documentary, Sci-Fi/Horror, International, Florida Flavor, and E for Everyone.
Films will start at 7 p.m. at the historic 1923 theater at 201 S. Magnolia Ave. Film fans in attendance will have a chance to win two tickets to the 16th annual festival next February.
Tickets for the Summer Rewind are $12 and can be obtained at LoveYourShorts.com or purchased at the door.
